Messier 97 Owl Nebula

The Owl Nebula, M97, is one of the more complex planetary nebulae. Appearing in the constellation Ursa Major, it is also one of the fainter Messier objects.

In a 8" scope, the nebula is easy to detect and the edges are rather sharply defined, but there isn't any sign of the "eyes". There is just a hint of color variance throughout, but nothing really definite. About the best view is at 122X.
