Messier 93

M93 is an open star cluster in the constellation Puppis. A small but bright system, it contains maybe 100 members spread over some 25 light-years in diameter, at a distance of around 3500 light-years.

In a 8-inch scope, this is an impressive open cluster. Most of the stars appear white, with a few yellow-white stars mixed in. The longer you stare at this cluster, the more stars you can pick out. There must be around 100 stars, or at least several dozen.
