![]() | M92 is a globular cluster in the constellation Hercules, slightly further away and a little younger than its near neighbor M13. M92 is about 28,000 light-years away, over 100 light-years across, and approximately 15 billion years old. It's even visible to the naked eye under excellent sky conditions. In a 8-inch scope, this globular is quite a bit smaller than nearby M13, it is beautiful in its own right. 8" of aperture just isn't quite enough to bring out its true beauty. At 305x, dozens of stars can be seen, but the central core is still just a smudge. |
